Energy Performance Certificate Birmingham
What is an Energy Performance Certificate?
An Energy Performance Certificate shows the official energy efficiency rating of a property. If you're not planning to sell or re-let your home, you don't need to do anything.
The certificate provides you with a SAP rating for the building, showing its energy efficiency and its environmental impact on a scale from A-G (where A is the most efficient and G the least efficient), in graphical format. It also contains recommended ways to improve the building's energy performance.
By 2009, all buildings in the UK that are constructed, sold or rented out will have to have an Energy Performance Certificate, in accordance with the European Energy Performance of Buildings Directive.
Landlords Energy Performance Certificates
From 1 October 2008 you are not able to let out your property without an Energy Performance Certificate - EPC. The EPC must be made available and shown to prospective tenants and a copy issued to your new tenants. The good news is that they last for 10 years and we can advise on grants available.
We cover the whole of the West Midlands including Birmingham, Dudley, Wolverhampton, Sandwell and Walsall.
Normally we are able to survey your house and issue you with an EPC within 24 hrs of your request.
You will be issued with your Energy performance Certificate and Energy Data.
You will also be provided with a link to the database file and you will be given a unique reference number to call up and print off your EPC as many times as you like.
